Organizational Mission Statement of the SCABPsi a Chapter of The Association of Black Psychologists:

TO SERVE THE NEEDS OF STUDENTS, PROFESSIONS & THE COMMUNITY (2005)

The Goals and Objectives:

Goals:

  • To improve the quality of training for students and professionals.
  • To improve the quality of life of the African American communities we serve.
  • To facilitate healthier lifestyle by promoting and coordinating mental and physical healing.


Objectives:  consistent with the philosophy of The Association of Black Psychologists these objectives will assist in carrying out our mission

  • To seek funding in order to create and provide clinical training opportunities for students, interns and professionals.
  • To establish psychosocial programs within the African American, Latino and other underserved communities.
  • To establish a multicultural parenting program (with linkages and contracts to the Department of Children and Family Services, DCFS).
  • Develop a chapter directory.
  • Develop and coordinate services for our young boys and young men who are fathers.
